Model-Based Powertrain Control: Many Uses, No Abuse
نویسنده
چکیده
Model-Based Powertrain Control: Many Uses, No abuse — Many meanings exist behind this expression. We have conducted a mini-survey to confirm and describe this diversity. “Models” mainly stands for powertrain-models or Engine Management System (EMS) models. Uses are also very diverse, from upstream design activity to final software validation, through Model In the Loop and Software In the Loop testing, Computer aided tuning, ... We propose illustrations of the main meanings through work conducted at Renault. It clearly appears that putting models in products and in methods is of great importance to master future technologies and increasing complexity of powertrain control area: the target is to mix both worlds, towards mechatronic systems. Modeling and Fuzzy Control Strategy Design for the Hydraulic Hybrid Refuse Truck
In the present paper, the idea of braking energy regeneration and reusing that energy during acceleration for a refuse truck is comprehended. According to their driving cycle, the refuse trucks have a good potential for braking energy regeneration. On the other hand, hydraulic hybrid is a powertrain with high power density which is appropriate for energy regeneration. In the primary stage of th...
متن کاملData-Driven Predictive Torque Coordination Control during Mode Transition Process of Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Torque coordination control significantly affects the mode transition quality during the mode transition dynamic process of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Most of the existing torque coordination control methods are based on the mechanism model, whose control effect heavily depends on the modeling accuracy of the HEV powertrain. However, the powertrain structure is so complex, that it is diffi...
متن کاملComparison of Optimal Supervisory Control Strategies for a Series Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Powertrain
This paper uses dynamic programming to compare the optimal fuel and electricity costs associated with two supervisory control strategies from the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) literature. One strategy blends fuel and electricity for propulsion throughout the useful range of battery state of charge (SOC), while the second strategy switches from all-electric to blended operation at a pre...
متن کاملHeavy Truck Modeling for Fuel Consumption Simulations and Measurements
Fuel consumption for heavy trucks depends on many factors like roads, weather, and driver behavior that are hard for a manufacturer to influence. However, one design possibility is the powertrain configuration. Here a new simulation program for heavy trucks is created to find the configuration of the powertrain that gives the lowest fuel consumption for each transport task. For efficient simula...

Today, employing model based design approach in powertrain development is being paid more attention. Precise, meanwhile fast to run models are required for applying model based techniques in powertrain control design and engine calibration. In this paper, an in-cylinder process model of a CVVT gasoline engine is developed to be employed in extended mean valve control oriented model and also mod...
